Passionate stories of travel !

On March 31st, the ILCF Became a Brief Stop for a Few Adventurers
They came to share stories of their recent journeys — and what fascinating adventures they were!

The event, held on a Monday, welcomed thrill-seekers Leslie and Boris, as well as Adelaïde, a former ESDES student and now a member of the UCLy community as the ESDES Alumni Relations Manager. At first glance, Adelaïde’s trips — from Lyon to the southwest of France, or from Paris to Amsterdam — might not seem like grand adventures… until you find out she did it all by bike!

Leslie and Boris’s adventure required a different kind of transport — something that floats — since they had to cross an ocean! Their incredible boat journey lasted two and a half months. And for Leslie, this wasn’t her first adventure: she had previously completed an awe-inspiring hike through the fjords of Patagonia. These feats definitely earned them the title of "adventurers," with Adelaïde joining their ranks thanks to her cross-European cycling expeditions.

In addition to their presentations, our three guests brought photos from their journeys to display in the Carnot campus hall, so everyone could admire them. Leslie, who is also a painter, even brought some of her travel-inspired canvases, which she exhibited alongside the photographs.
